Mariam, aged 10 has been reportedly shot dead in a fresh cult attack in the Oja Oba area of Ilorin, Kwara State.
The cultists reportedly invaded the old market around 9: 30 pm on Thursday shooting sporadically where a gunshot hit Mariam and his three-year-old brother but Mariam died immediately.
It was reported that there has been a hot battle line between members of the two same cult groups, Aiye and Eye.
It was learned that Aiye members trailed a target shot from the same group, known as Efo yo Ile film close to the old market but the bullet didn’t catch him.
It was told that Mariam and her brother was with their mother who sells bread at a stand within the market when the ugly incident happened.

A woman who sells in the market said that Mariam was hit by a stray bullet and died on the spot while her three-year-old brother was receiving treatment.
The lady stated, “There are some traders in the market who operate in the evening because of the nature of their business. The market was bubbling around 9.30 pm on Thursday when we suddenly began to hear gunshots.
“There was confusion everywhere. Stray bullets hit Mariam and her brother, Abdulraheem, in the process. They were about 10 years old and three years old respectively. Mariam died that night but her brother survived and was rushed to a hospital.
“I learned that Mariam lived with a relative in Abuja and just came back about four days to the incident. Bullets also hit a woman who sells chicken in the market.”
