Yesterday, Nigerians particularly students have been jubilating and rejoicing, after it was made known in news papers and other news platforms that the Federal Government of Nigeria under President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the reopening of schools of the federation, after meeting with committee of Presidential Task Force on Covid-19.
After this went viral, the Special Assistant to the Senate President of Nigeria on New Media, Mr Abubakar Sidiq Usman has reacted to it, as he gave more clarifications on it around 10:42pm yesterday night.
On his official Twitter handle,he said “that all the newspaper reporting that the Federal Government has approved school reopening, have not giving out the precise information on the matter”.
“He said, that is not what the Presidential Task Force or the guidelines said on school reopening”.
There are still some restrictions to it and the reopening of schools are in phases, and there is no timeline provided for it yet, he said.
